Independent reference desk on sport and human rights

About

About the desk

Sports for Rights is a reference publication on human rights and sport. It started as the home of the Sport for Rights coalition campaign, and that archive stays online at /campaign/.

What the desk publishes

Six sections cover mega-events, athletes’ rights, safe sport, governance, betting and integrity, and press and civil society. A seventh part, Rights explained, holds fact sheets on seven rights of the European Convention on Human Rights. The Wire is the general section: pieces placed there arrive automatically and are not edited at the desk.

How an article is made

Each reference article answers one question. Every figure, date and quotation is taken from a document the desk opened, and the sources are listed beside the text. Where a number cannot be traced to a source, it is left out.

The desk signs collectively. To reach it, write to [email protected].
