How to read a fact sheet

Each sheet opens with what the guarantee protects, then sets out the limits the Convention allows and names cases decided by the European Court of Human Rights. Where sport raises the issue, the sheet says how.

What each sheet covers

The seven sheets follow the rights the European Convention on Human Rights protects and that most often meet sport: assembly and association, fair trial, liberty and security, life, family and private life, expression, and thought, conscience and religion. Each is written for readers who are not lawyers.
